and a Dutch schoolteacher from Friesland

The acrylic paintings shown on this website are a combination of landscapes and calligraphy.
Zondervan's style, his handwriting, has similarities with waves and clouds. It associates with
water, land and the sky. His regular use of phtalo-blue reminds us of the sea.
These works are obviously inspired by the surroundings Zondervan lives in.
The north-west part of Friesland, upnorth in the Netherlands, is a very flat landscape,
with a wide horizon, a big sky, and behind the dikes always the restless sea.
